Golf Wedges – Valuable for Many Golf Situations
There are all sorts of different cases where certain types of golf clubs are going to work better. These situation golf clubs are ones that are known better as wedges. Golf wedges are golf clubs with higher lofts and are used for specific types of shots. These are used for situations dealing with sand and shorter distances among other things.
A golf wedge works in a way that is similar to that of an iron in that its face is flat and its shaft is short. It also has a head that has a loft based on an angle difference that is based on ninety degrees. There are four general types of situation golf clubs that are used here.
The first of these wedges is the pitching wedge. This situation club has an average loft of about fifty degrees. The most common use for this club is to create a shot that is higher in altitude and can go in various distances. A full shot can go more than a hundred yards in distance. This club can be used for other situations as well. It can create chip shots that can go up to fifty yards in length putting shots that can easily move a ball from the fringe to the green.
The gap wedge, which generally has a loft of fifty two degrees, deals with lighter shots. This works particularly well with fairway shots and is generally recommended for approach shots. A gap wedge can be used for lifting a ball out of hazardous areas as well.
For the tougher areas of a course the sand wedge is a great club to use. Known for being used as a club to help with getting balls out of bunkers, this type of club is one of the best situation golf clubs to use. A typical sand wedge works with a loft of fifty eight degrees but some have lofts as low as fifty five degrees. The short shaft on this club works especially for helping to allow for additional control. It is especially important to use this type of club in that it works for getting shots to go at higher altitudes that can help to get it out of a bunker.
The fourth of these wedges is the lob wedge. This club has the highest loft at about sixty degrees on average. This club is used in terms of helping to get higher shots so that there will be a lower amount of roll when the ball lands. This is commonly used among golfers who need to get accurate shots onto a green without much of a roll.
Golf wedges are important situation golf clubs that are used for helping to getting through various challenging situations. These can include approach shots, shorter shots and shots from bunkers. By using these wedges it will be easier to get through some of the toughest challenges on a golf course.
